Morning YouTubeness: Turn Back the Suckage Clock

Happy Monday, people. While this video is obviously dated as a certain Texans fan was throwing in his vote for Vince Young on draft day, it is the first time I've seen it and think it's pretty funny...all the way down to the repetitive dry-humping.

It's got to be pretty rough to be David Carr right now. Aside from the multi-millions of dollars, the team that he's on chose a 50-year old Vinny Testeverde over him and they actually won. Chalk him up as just another #1 overall to not translate to the NFL. But while you're chalking, check out this video...

Hi, My Name Is: Matt Moore

*"Hi, My Name Is" is a sporadic feature on First and 10 Inches that introduces you to players that have been thrusted into starting positions for one reason or another. Odds are, this is likely the first time you've heard of the player mentioned.

With "Meet Selvin Young" being put on hold a bit with Travis Henry taking his weed-smoking ways to court, the recent decision by Jake Delhomme to undergo surgery will likely bring us a new name in the quarterback ranks.

What about David Carr, you ask? His status for next week is uncertain after he was put in the camel clutch by the Houston Texans this past Sunday. This allows Moore, not to be confused with award-winning film producer Michael Moore, to get a few snaps and attempt to hurl the ball to Steve Smith as many times as possible.

Moore is a rookie QB out of Oregon State, the same school that has brought us many quarterbacking legends such as Derek Anderson of the Cleveland Browns. Only, Oregon State wasn't Moore's first and only stop in the NCAA circuit. Moore started off at UCLA, and then transfered to the College of the Canyons - a community college in Los Angeles. Their nickname is the Cougars, in case you were wondering.

After being drafted as a third baseman in the 22nd round by the Anaheim Angels, Moore opted for the football path at Oregon State. Apparently, 22nd round draft picks do not flourish very often. Thankfully for OSU, this move resulted in an upset win over USC and a Bowl victory over Missouri that featured four touchdown passes by Moore.

What round was he selected in the NFL draft? Well, he wasn't. He was an un-drafted rookie that was signed by the Dallas Cowboys - only to be cut a few weeks later. He was picked up by the Carolina Panthers, and could now be on the verge of his first career start in the NFL.

Carolina fans have plenty of reason to be nervous given the fact that a former community college athlete is their starting quarterback, but he could surprise a few people this week if given the chance. Just ask Pete Carroll.

And Then There Was One

Shortly after being inducted into the ESPN Fantasy Hall of Fame, Tampa Bay Bucs running back Mike Alstott has decided to hold a press conference today, likely announcing his retirement from the game of football - obviously ending on a high note.

Alstott has recently been placed on the injured reserve due to injuries to his neck and vertebra. Alstott, 33, said his neck felt sore after training camp opened, but unlike the soreness in the rest of his body, his neck's soreness didn't subside.

"I guess one thing, you don't mess with the neck, huh?" Alstott said. "There's always situations where it can be worsened by playing. That's why you have IR, and that's why you don't play the rest of the year, because it is a severe injury and it's a situation you don't mess with.

This unfortunate announcement will likely mean that Panthers running back Nick Goings will be the only white running back to make a final roster this season. Goings, himself, saved a few fantasy owners back in the day when he rushed for six late-season touchdowns in 2004. As of this post, he's still waiting to be inducted into ESPN's fantasy hall.

Stay strong, Nick. Your time will come. DeShaun Foster's knees told me so.
